Any doom and gloom after a poor start to the season seems to have been forgotten by Cowdenbeath, who visit Falkirk in search of a third win in four league games.
Up until four weeks ago, the Blue Brazil could not buy a victory and only managed to muster a solitary point from their opening six games.
But boss Jimmy Nicholl has overseen a dramatic turnaround in fortunes and heads to play the Bairns hoping to build on the 3-2 victory at Alloa last week which took his side off the foot of the Championship table.
“It was a great win against Alloa, although when they brought it back to 3-2 it was a wee bit backs to the wall in the closing stages,” he told Courier Sport.
“But it was a great performance and a great three points which took us off the bottom.
“We’re back to second bottom by virtue of Livingston taking a point off Falkirk on Tuesday night but it just shows you what can be done.
“We had a clean sheet against Dumbarton and that’s us now taken seven points from a possible nine, so it’s just a matter of a couple of wins and you can see what that’s done.
“The players’ confidence is just building and building and that’s been the most pleasing thing, because we were sitting with just one point after six games and wondering where the points were going to come from.
“That’s the difference, we’re accumulating points and the lads are playing well.
“The defence is playing well, we’re coming out of defence well and we’re breaking forward well, so things are definitely looking up.”
Falkirk have had a very mixed start to the season, winning just two and drawing five of their opening 10 games, and Nicholl admits he doesn’t know what to expect from Peter Houston’s side.
“They haven’t had the best of starts but it’s going to be like this all season teams are going to have ups and downs,” he continued.
“All I’ve asked of our players is to produce what they are capable of producing, and they’ve done that in the last few weeks.
“So we want to keep that going.”
Lewis Milne and Nat Wedderburn both trained this week and should be available for selection.
