John Robertson hailed his side’s battling qualities after watching his East Fife side rack up their first league win under his charge.
Bobby Linn gave the struggling New Bayview men a first-half lead, but fans would have been forgiven for thinking normal service was about to be resumed when Scott Walker fired home an equaliser.
However, Robertson’s men dug in and went on to seal the win thanks to goals from Steve Hislop and a Robert Sloan double.
Robertson said, “When they got their goal it was a real test of our character because of the results we’ve had. We had a wee bit of luck at times, but I thought we really deserved it.
“There’s no doubt that going forward we are a good side, but today I think we also had a bit of resilience about us.”
