Dumbarton v Cowdenbeath: Blue Brazil able without Kane

Cowdenbeath have been dealt a blow ahead of their vital relegation clash with Dumbarton after top goalscorer Kane Hemmings was ruled out.

The forward picked up a hamstring injury against Dundee last month and was back in training earlier in the week with an eye on a comeback against the Sons.

The 21-year-old has suffered a reaction, however, and Central Park manager Jimmy Nicholl has now ruled him out.

He said: “He trained but he was not right and it was no surprise that he was still in some discomfort.

“We will be without him this weekend. We have won games without Kane recently and now we will need to do so again.”
