Brechin boss Ray McKinnon wishes this afternoon did not mark the end of the season for his resurgent side.
A campaign that has seen City decimated by injury and suspension will finish up at the Glebe against a Stenhousemuir side determined to force their way into play-off contention.
However, Brechin have taken 10 points out of a possible 12 in their last four games, including last week’s win over East Fife, and are determined to finish with a flourish and secure fifth place in League One.
The club are hoping a large vocal support will come along and they have cut admission prices in a “Fitba for a Fiver” initiative, with everyone gaining entry for just £5.
McKinnon said: “The boys’ attitude was superb last week against an East Fife side with loads to play for.
“We are also benefiting from consistency of team selection and the lads look fitter now than at any time during the season as they are finally playing week in, week out.
“We even have a chance to finish the season on a high. Stenny are chasing for a play-off spot but we look to win every game and we know if we beat them, then there is a chance we will finish the season in fifth.
“That would be some achievement considering all the interruptions we have had because of injury and suspension.
“This game can’t come quickly enough for me and it is just a pity that the season is away to end.
“We will have Bobby Barr back from suspension and everybody is fit and that’s something I haven’t been able to say too often this season.”
