Raith Rovers boss Grant Murray can look forward to having an increased budget for next season after a meeting between the club’s board and the Stark’s Park management team to review this campaign.
Despite their Ramsdens Cup Final success over Rangers there was a whiff of disappointment in the air at Kirkcaldy after a seventh-placed finish only two points above Cowdenbeath who are in the play-offs.
A club spokesperson said: “One of the main lessons learned from last season was that although the quality of players here was very good, we perhaps did not have enough strength in depth to cope with injuries and suspensions.
“We could and should have done better and we are united in working together to improve our results next season, notwithstanding the quality and much higher resources available to the opposition we will face.
“The management team are up for the challenge and will work tirelessly in pursuit of our goals and the Board will continue to support that effort with every means at its disposal.
“An increased budget has been made available and much work is already being done to build our 2014/15 squad and will work will begin to re-sign some members of the existing squad and bring in some new faces.”
