Jim Jefferies hopes the appointment of Alan Stubbs as Hibernian’s new manager will benefit Dunfermline when the Pars host the Easter Road club in a pre-season friendly next month.
The Fifers will face Hibs at East End Park on July 15 in what will be Stubbs’ second game in charge of the capital outfit.
Jefferies, whose side narrowly missed out on joining Hibs in the Championship when they lost their play-off final against Cowdenbeath last month, is keen to see as many fans as possible follow Stubbs and his team over the Forth.
He said: “Hibs have a new manager so we are hoping for a good travelling support coming across for the game.”
Meanwhile, Jefferies has confessed it is unlikely Dunfermline would have been able to re-sign keeper Ryan Scully had he not agreed fresh terms with Partick Thistle this summer.
After he spent the whole of last term on loan with them, the Pars were keen to capture the 21-year-old again for the coming season, but would not have been able to afford any compensation due for a permanent transfer.
Scully penned a new two-year deal with the Jags this summer, opening the way for Jefferies to bring the youngster back to East End Park on another loan.
He added: “Ryan was out of contract and we could have offered him something but we probably couldn’t have afforded the compensation due.
“Partick offered him a contract and let him go out on loan to us again. That keeps him playing and we have agreed a deal.”
