Cowdenbeath have now received more than 30 applications for their vacant manager’s job, following the resignation of Jimmy Nicholl who quit in the wake of their relegation from the Championship.
The Fifers will be looking to narrow down the list of contenders over the next few days with a decision possibly being made next week.
Cowden’s chief executive Alex Anderson said: “We are looking for either a manager or a player-manager and we intend to have a mixture of full-time and part-time players but we will have to be more cost-conscious in our expenditure as a result of our demotion to League One.
“The new manager will want to look at the budget for next season and make decisions on players who are still under contract until the end of this month.”
