Montrose boss Paul Hegarty has persuaded three members of last season’s squad to agree deals to stay at Links Park.
Terry Masson, Paul Watson and Andy Steeves have put pen to paper on new contracts, bringing the number of players on the Gable Endies’ books to 10.
However, with the holiday season in full swing, the manager is struggling to add new players to his roster and he revealed he is still waiting to hear back from pyramid play-off hero Marvin Andrews.
He said: “In the last couple of days, Terry Masson and Paul Watson have signed up for next season which is great news.
“We have also tied up Andy Steeves who was with us on loan from Forfar last season.
“So we now have 10 players at our disposal but we are still beavering away trying to sign some more.
“We are on the look-out for goalkeepers, defenders and strikers but it has been frustrating so far.
“I have put in numerous phone calls but there are still a lot of clubs on holiday and it is the same with players.
“I am also awaiting news on Marvin Andrews. He was great for us and I have offered him a deal for next season.
“However, he was going on holiday to Hong Kong followed by a spell in his homeland and he still hasn’t got back to me.
“He was frank with us at the end of last season, saying he had a couple of offers from teams in the central belt so we will just have to wait and see with that one.”
