Dundee and Dundee United fans will not have long to wait for the first derby of the new 2015/16 Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership campaign with the local rivals meeting just three games in on Wednesday, August 12 at Tannadice.
The new fixtures, which have just been released, see the Tangerines kick-off their season with a home game against Derek McInnes’s Aberdeen followed by a trip to Motherwell before the derby.
Like last season, the Dark Blues begin their campaign with a game against Kilmarnock, although this time it is at Rugby Park, followed by a match at Dens with newly-promoted Hearts before the short trip down the road for the derby.
Tommy Wright’s St Johnstone will provide the first test of the Jambos’ Premiership credentials with a trip to what will no doubt be a packed Tynecastle on August 1.
Saints then have successive home matches against Highland opposition with Scottish Cup winners Inverness visiting McDiarmid followed by Ross County.
