Cowdenbeath manager Colin Nish beat competition from a number of clubs at the weekend to snap up the former Hibs and Livingston defender Bradley Donaldson.
The new Beath boss is delighted to have signed a talented product of Hibs’ youth system, who has now fully recovered from injury and illness problems which hampered his progress last season.
And the move to Central Park on a one-year deal provided an extra boost for the player as he celebrated his 21st birthday.
Nish said yesterday: “A few teams were looking at Bradley so we are delighted to sign him.
“He had a hard time last season with illness, but he is over that now and ready to show his ability,” he added.
Donaldson, who can play in central defence or at full-back, joined Hibs’ youth set-up at the age of eight, but left Easter Road last year after a season in which he had a successful loan spell at Arbroath but then spent time on the sidelines with injury.
He joined Livingston last season only to be hit by illness, but fought back to make his way into their first team.
He becomes Nish’s fourth new signing following the capture of 22-year-old striker Greig Spence from Alloa, 20-year-old midfielder Jack Beaumont from Livingston, and 17-year-old forward Calum Muirhead, who joined from the Fife Elite Football Academy.
