Forfar boss Dick Campbell is looking for his players to cement their position at the top of the League One table when they travel to face Cowdenbeath today.

The Loons stormed back to the summit last Saturday thanks to a 2-0 win over Brechin in the Angus derby.

Then in further good news, Campbell was named League One Manager of the Month for August on Thursday.

He said: “Someone told me that’s 28 of these awards I have won.

“I’m not absolutely sure that’s correct but I have had to build three mantelpieces in my house to keep them on!

“Seriously though, it is always good to receive the recognition but enormous credit must go to the players for taking us to the top of the league.

“We were unbeaten in the league in August and we also took Hearts all the way to extra time in the League Cup.

“We will look to stay top by picking up another good result at Cowdenbeath although we will have to try to do so without Derek Young.

“I thought he was outstanding last week and scored a great goal but he has a groin strain and will miss out which is a blow.

“Omar Kader will also be unavailable as he is in New Zealand on business.

“However, I have a lot of options up front and our captain Gavin Swankie will definitely play a part while Chris Templeman is back available again.

“And here’s a stat the back four from last week have played four times and have not conceded a goal.

“So it is all coming together well.”
