Falkirk v Cowdenbeath: ‘Crazy’ five minutes must be banished

Cowdenbeath's Greg Stewart holds off Hamilton's Grant Gillespie during last weekend's match.
Cowdenbeath's Greg Stewart holds off Hamilton's Grant Gillespie during last weekend's match.

Cowdenbeath boss Colin Cameron will have a full squad to choose from as the Blue Brazil seek to put last Saturday’s capitulation behind them.

The Fife club were 2-0 up against league leaders Hamilton at half-time at the weekend, only to concede three goals in five minutes and a last-gasp fourth to cap a nightmarish second-half at Central Park as Accies ran out 4-2 winners.

Despite that, Cameron is now keen for his team to focus on this weekend’s trip to Falkirk and is concentrating on the positives they gleaned from giving the league leaders a fright.

“I wouldn’t even say it was the second half, it was just a crazy five-minute spell,” he said.

“We had the wind behind our back in the first half and I thought we were in control of the game.

“We were doing well from set pieces and got our first from a corner and we thoroughly deserved it.

“We were passing the ball well and penning them in, we forced them into a mistake and then three of four passes later the ball was in the back of the net to make it 2-0.

“We were playing well but then they score a wonder goal and we suddenly stopped being resilient and being focused.

“I was bitterly disappointed with the result but the players showed they can match a team like Hamilton for long spells.”
