Raith boss Ray McKinnon wins manager of the month award
ByNeil Robertson
Raith Rovers boss Ray McKinnon has won the Ladbrokes Championship Manager of the Month Award for March.
The accolade is in recognition of the fantastic form the Fife side produced in a hectic spell of seven matches that saw them win five, draw one with just a single defeat to Rangers at Ibrox.
The March results all but confirmed Rovers place in the promotion play-offs, which considering the shoestring budget McKinnon operates under, is a fantastic achievement.
The 45-year-old former Dundee United, Nottingham Forest and Aberdeen midfielder is one of the most highly-rated young managers in Scotland and he is continuing where he left off as boss at Brechin after giving up a top job with the SFA.
Rovers’ fine form continued on Saturday when they secured a last-gasp 3-3 draw at home with Rangers.
