East Fife manager Gary Naysmith is asking his squad to dig deep to see off League Two rivals Stirling Albion in their William Hill Scottish Cup tie at Bayview.
The sides meet just three weeks after they played out a 1-1 draw in Fife, with Naysmith hoping to turn home advantage into a passage into the next round.
He explained: “When Stirling were at our place recently it really was a game of two halves. We were the better side in the first half and they were better in the second.
“They then build on that with a win and a clean sheet at Clyde last Saturday and that will give them increased confidence. We will respect them however we are at home and should be looking to use that to our advantage.”
Naysmith believes his side will need to lift their game from last weekend’s performance at Berwick if they are to progress.
He noted: “It was a disappointing game at Berwick last weekend.
“We had something like 4 one on one opportunities in the game and had not scored so it was looking like it was going to be a disappointing day. However the boys stuck at things and we got the late equaliser, but I am looking for better in this game.”
Allan Walker is suspended and Steven Campbell is still out with an ankle injury.
Naysmith said: “We are showing a good bit of resilience and not conceding goals which augurs well as we will be low on numbers. There could perhaps be only two fully fit substitutes on the bench which is not great but we will need to get on with things.”
