Forfar defender’s loan won’t last through the play-offs
ByThe Courier Reporter
Forfar boss Dick Campbell has been left cursing the loan rules that will stop his son Iain helping the Loons through to the end of the season.
The 29-year-old has been on loan from Cowdenbeath since January on a short term loan deal that was extended to a 93-day loan.
However he cannot play in the scheduled last two games or the play-offs should Forfar reach them as the loan period will have expired.
Manager Campbell said: “The only way we could get Iain for a second time after the January transfer window closed was on a 93-day loan which runs out at a crucial time.
“There was no way to extend it and we now have a scenario where we will miss a key player and Iain could well not be involved at Cowdenbeath.
“There should be some way to extend deals until the end of the season in these circumstances.”
