Raith Rovers have launched an appeal against the red card shown to Dougie Hill during Tuesday night’s dramatic League Cup tie with Hearts at Stark’s Park.
The defender was dismissed following a second-half confrontation with the Jambos’ Jamie Hamill, with the Edinburgh outfit going on to win the game in an extra-time penalty shoot-out.
The Hearts player fell to the turf holding his face after squaring up to Hill However, the Raith centre-half and his boss Grant Murray were adamant afterwards that there had been no contact.
Now the club are set to contest the red card, although they were keen to stress in a statement that there was no inferred criticism of Brian Colvin.
Pending the outcome of the appeal, Hill remains available for selection.
