East Fife manager Gary Naysmith is hoping that Santa has left his team a change of luck in front of goal as a Christmas present.
The Fifers have slipped down the table after four games without a win and face a trip to in-form Stirling Albion today.
Naysmith said: “We should have beaten Montrose last weekend but failed to take our chances. At the start of the season Nathan Austin was burying the chances he had whereas just now he is not getting the ball over the line.
“He is not alone in not scoring but hopefully it will change for him and for us.”
The Forthbank side are heading up the way after five wins in their last six games.
Naysmith noted: “Stirling are in a bit of good form just now and we had them watched last weekend when they beat the league leaders Annan. They line up with a 4-4-2 formation but they encourage their full backs to get up and join their attack.
“Darren Smith looked very dangerous last weekend as well so we have to be at the top of our game to get anything.”
Stevie Campbell is fit enough to be considered for a starting place however Kevin Smith is out with an ankle injury and Ryan Goodfellow is set to return to goalkeeping duties after a knock.
Darren Hill had appeared as a trialist last weekend following his release from Hamilton Accies and was expected to join the Bayview squad.
However he has headed for Forfar to replace the Rab Douglas.
Naysmith said: “I am disappointed that Darren has opted to go elsewhere after it looked very much like he was coming here.”
