Cowdenbeath v Alloa: Sickness bug causes headache for Cameron
ByCraig Smith
Cowdenbeath boss Colin Cameron is hoping his squad can shake off the effects of a sickness bug which has hit Central Park.
Defender David Cowan and striker Kane Hemmings have been struck down with flu-like symptoms this week and are doubts for Saturday’s home game against Alloa in the Championship.
And with Cowden sitting second bottom of the table, Cameron is understandably keen to have all of his players at his disposal heading into some important games for the Fife club.
“There seems to be a sickness and diarrhoea bug going about,” he said.
“One or two of the players have had it and some of the staff here have had it so we just have to hope the players are OK.
“Kane and David have both been suffering a bit this week and I would say they are 50/50 for the weekend.
“We’ll just have to see how they are because, although they might be back training before the game, these things can take it out of you.”
There has been better news on the injury front though with the availability of Jon Robertson for the visit of the Wasps.
The midfielder had been struggling after picking up a knock in the league game against Dumbarton a fortnight ago but trained on Tuesday.
