‘So far, so good’ for Brechin midfielder Alan Trouten

Brechin City’s push for promotion has received a major boost as goal-grabbing midfielder Alan Trouten has returned to training just three weeks after being told his season was over.
The 29-year-old, who has scored 14 times this season, has not played since mid-March after breaking ribs.
However, he could return to action when the fourth-placed Glebe Park men take on Stirling Albion on Saturday.
Manager Ray McKinnon said: “Alan came to see me at the end of last week and told me he was feeling a lot better and wanted to train. He put some work in and was pain free, so we have stepped things up. It is a case of so far, so good.
“There is a chance he could return this weekend, which would be great news as we have four cup finals coming up as we look to secure a play-off place.”
