Cowdenbeath have the chance to move eight points clear of second bottom Forfar and into the fringes of the promotion play-offs by defeating visitors Albion Rovers tonight.
The Blue Brazil ended 2015 in fine form with three wins in a row, however 2016 has not been so kind with a defeat from Rangers in the Scottish Cup and then three successive fruitless league games.
Central Park manager Colin Nish believes he has identified where they have been going wrong.
He explained: “We are a bit short in the creative side of our game at the moment and that is costing us. Gordon Smith moving to Australia has been a big miss for us and we need to start making up for him no longer being here.
“There was nothing between Airdrie and us on Saturday apart from them making a couple of chances and winning 2-0 as a result. If we can start being more dangerous in the final third then we can start winning games again.
“Our aim is to make the top four this season and winning this one would bring that more into reach for us.”
Jamie Sneddon and Kyle Miller are still injured however Liam Callaghan could return after a knock saw him miss out at the weekend.
