Brechin players need to believe in themselves, says Dods

Darren Dods wants to see the return of the self-belief in his Brechin team that helped take four points of two of League One’s promotion favourites.
There was no 90-minute fight in the Glebe Park men when they went down to Cowdenbeath last weekend, to the player-manager’s disappointment.
But Dods’s players don’t have to go back too far to a time when there was.
“We need to get back to what we were doing well when we beat Forfar and drew with Ayr,” he explained.
“The players need to believe in themselves.
“It was disappointing to see that when we went down 2-0 with 10 minutes to go the players resigned themselves to the fact that they were going to lose.
“In this league that doesn’t have to be the case.”
In their last five matches with today’s opponents Stenhousemuir, Brechin haven’t lost.
Understandably, Dods hopes that will be a “good omen” this afternoon at Glebe Park.
Dene Shields is two weeks away from a return, but Robert Thomson should be on the bench, with Gary Fusco a likely starter.
