Brechin boss Darren Dods is looking for some home comfort starting this afternoon against Albion Rovers after a recent spell that has seen his side play five out of their last seven games on the road.
Those away fixtures included last week’s game at Airdrie which the Angus side lost to a single defected goal.
That defeat combined with Cowdenbeath drawing, sent Brechin back to the bottom of the League One table.
However, Dods is hoping that a return to the Glebe can also see a return to winning ways for his side against an Albion Rovers outfit that are sitting in fourth place in the table.
The player/manager said: “It was obviously disappointing to lose last week.
“I felt we did all right in the first half although they had the better chances in the second and once they scored with a deflected shot, they sat in and were difficult to break down as they are very well organised.
“However, we are glad to be back at the Glebe this week.
“We spent much of the first quarter on our travels so it is a boost to be back playing at home.
“Five out of out of our next eight games are on our own patch so it is an important spell for us and it would be good to get off to a winning start against Albion Rovers.
“They have experienced guys like John Gemmell, Andy Barrowman and Darren Young, their manager who is still playing as well as a lot of good younger lads.
“Like Airdrie, they are well organised so hopefully we can get the first goal and force them to open up.
“I will certainly be looking for my players to create more chances than they did last week.
“Robert Thomson is our only injury doubt for the game with a thigh problem.
“He is no better than 50/50 but we will give him until the last possible minute to see if he can play.”
