Dunfermline have won the League One title thanks to a 3-1 win over Brechin at East End Park.
The Pars secured their return to the Championship with five games left to play thanks to Faissal El Bakhtaoui’s hat-trick against City and Peterhead’s 1-0 defeat to Cowdenbeath.
Ryan Wallace set up the Frenchman’s first after just eight minutes.
His pass allowed El Bakhtaoui to slot the ball home past Graeme Smith from close range.
Defender Jason Talbot was on hand to set up El Bakhtaoui’s second with the forward finding the net with a right-footed effort from inside the box.
The visitors pulled one back just a minute later when on loan midfielder Liam Watt set up Robert Thomson.
Wallace came close to adding to their lead in the second half when his effort hit the crossbar and Brechin saw a goal chalked off for Andy Jackson’s foul on Andrew Geggan.
But El Bakhtaoui sealed the win with an injury time effort from inside the box to clinch the title for the Pars.
