Arbroath’s Darren Smith is available for transfer after agreeing to leave the club by mutual consent.
The experienced 33-year-old former Brechin, Raith and Alloa player joined the Red Lichties from East Fife during the summer and made 20 appearances for the Angus side this season but has decided to move on.
Gayfield gaffer Paul Sheerin will now redouble his efforts to bolster his squad during the transfer window although he admitted that it has been a frustrating experience so far.
He said: “We are constantly trying to bring in new faces at the moment with another striker and defender the priorities.
“We are in touch with players and agents day in day out but so far without success.
“However, I am sure that if we keep persevering,we will get the people we want.”
