Montrose travel north to face Elgin City aiming to become the first team to beat Jim Weir’s men at Borough Briggs in the league this season.
It’s a big ask, but the Angus side’s recent form has given manager Paul Hegarty encouragement.
After enduring a run of four defeats, Montrose have drawn with league leaders Annan and promotion-chasing East Fife.
Hegarty has been delighted by the response of his players to their injury crisis.
“With all the injuries we’ve had, it really has been pleasing,” he said. “The boys have shown great application. The senior players have helped the young lads enormously.
“In the Annan game we played really well in the second half, and against East Fife last weekend we got a wee bit of good fortune.
“If I’d been offered something out of both games I’d have taken it straight away.”
Hegarty added: “Elgin haven’t lost at home so there can be no doubting how tough a game this will be. Plenty have tried and failed.
“It’s our objective to win though, and it would be great for confidence if we could do that.”
On-loan St Johnstone full-back Aaron Comrie has fitted in well, starting both matches since his arrival, and it looks like Hegarty will try to extend his emergency loan.
“Aaron’s been great for us,” he said. “Alec Cleland told me he would give me everything and be consistent, and he was right.
“He’s brave, strong and is a good crosser of the ball. Hopefully we’ll be able to extend his loan beyond the 28 days.”
Adam Harwood is out but Terry Masson could be available.
