Steven Lawless struck a stoppage-time winner to revive Partick Thistle’s top-six hopes with a Ladbrokes Premiership victory over Motherwell.
Thistle were heading for their second successive goalless draw after a poor 90 minutes on a difficult surface before Dundee United target Lawless volleyed home from 16 yards with the aid of a deflection.
Motherwell created their best chance later in stoppage time but Gary Fraser headed a Stephen McManus header off the line.
Both teams came into the game without a Ladbrokes Premiership win in 2016.
The result sees Thistle leapfrog their visitors to move two points off sixth-placed Dundee and 15 points clear of bottom club United.
