Dunfermline have publicly thanked their fans for the amount of season tickets they have already snapped up.
By their own admission, last season was a severe disappointment for the Pars, who finished seventh in the League One table.
The poor campaign also cost two managers their jobs with the Fife side parting company with Jim Jefferies while his successor John Potter has stepped back into his coaching role.
However, despite all that negativity, the Dunfermline faithful have rallied round to back the club and new boss Allan Johnston for next season.
In a statement, the Pars directors said: “We are only just into the first days of June, but the Board of DAFC felt it was appropriate to acknowledge the fantastic support provided by the Pars Family in just a few short weeks.
“We recently asked for the backing of our supporters, which was not easy after the season we experienced, but the response from Pars fans since has been unbelievable.
“DAFC season tickets only went on sale three weeks ago on May 8, but as at close of play on Saturday we had already sold 1,452!
“This a remarkable achievement and is testimony to the loyalty and passion of our supporter base. Our initial target was sales of 1,900, but at this early stage it appears that we may well surpass last season’s total of 2,100.
“It is very heartening to hear that we have seen a number of new applications already this year, as well as a number of former season tickets deciding to renew again.
“In addition, over 70% of purchases have been made by cash or cheque which further assists our club greatly so we would like to place on record our gratitude to all supporters who were able to help in this manner.
“Let’s keep the momentum going and all encourage as many friends, colleagues or family members as possible to purchase or renew a season ticket for next season.”
Johnston added: “I have only been at the club a short time, but I can see the passion there is for our club, amongst loyal supporters who have backed DAFC through thick and thin.
“We need to hit the ground running next season, and I intend to have the players back earlier for pre-season this year. We need a big, noisy home support at East End Park next season, so I would urge as many supporters as possible to back our club by purchasing a season ticket.”
