Raith Rovers boss Grant Murray is keeping his fingers crossed that his squad can stay largely injury-free over the coming weeks and months following a steady start to the season.
The Kirkcaldy club sit second in the Championship after suffering just one defeat in eight league games and go into a Ramsdens Cup semi-final against Annan on Sunday as firm favourites to reach the final.
Rovers fans have grown to expect a fairly settled starting line-up at Stark’s Park in recent weeks alongside a fairly inexperienced looking bench.
Although Murray would have no problem in pitching the club’s younger talent into first team games, the Rovers manager would far rather have a full squad at his disposal for as long as possible.
“We’re the same as every other team,” he said.
“You want every player available every week. People say it might make it difficult for you selection-wise but you want to have every player available and have that selection problem.
“We’ve been quite fortunate injury-wise and suspension-wise at this moment in time, so long may that continue. But if we were to pick up injuries, there’s not a lot you can do.
“Every team is going to have key players missing eventually, and because you’ve not got big squads everybody is important. If we do lose any players, we’ll just have to cross that bridge when we come to it.”
Raith fans are reminded that Sunday’s semi-final has a 4.05pm kick-off and will be screened live on BBC Alba.
However, Rovers boss Murray hopes as many fans as possible turn out in person at Stark’s Park on Sunday to cheer his men on.
The club have cut admission prices to £10 for adults and £5 for concessions, although season ticket holders should note season tickets are not valid for the semi-final.
As a result of Raith’s participation in the competition, the home game against John McGlynn’s Livingston, which was due to take place this Saturday, has been rescheduled for Tuesday October 29, with a 7.45pm kick-off.
Meanwhile, the SPFL have confirmed that referee Kevin Clancy will take charge of the Raith v Annan semi this weekend.
