Raith snap up Scott Robertson thanks to welcome cash injection

Former Dundee, Dundee United and Hibs player Scott Robertson has signed for Raith Rovers after a local company agreed to pay his wages.
The midfielder was a free agent after an unsuccessful spell at Romanian side FC Botosani and he had been extended training facilities by Rovers boss Ray McKinnon.
The manager was keen to sign him but with his playing budget spent, it looked like Robertson would not be heading to Stark’s Park.
However, care home operators Colin and Margaret Smart agreed to provide extra funds for the club to snap up Robertson with the 30-year-old making his debut as a second-half sub against Morton on Saturday.
McKinnon said, “It’s tremendous that there are people out there who will dig deep to help us try to take things forward at Raith Rovers. We are indebted to Colin and Margaret and to Kingdom Homes.
“If there’s anyone else who feels they too could support the club in a similar way, it would be great if they would get in touch.”
