Raith Rovers have been hit with a defensive injury crisis ahead of Saturday’s Scottish Cup clash with Elgin City.
The Fifers already have Jason Thomson sidelined with a back problem and saw Lewis Toshney limp off during Tuesday’s 1-1 draw with St Mirren.
Manager Ray McKinnon has revealed the former Celtic defender has injured his hamstring and is unlikely to be fit for the trip north. And he is considering recalling 19-year-old David Bates from his loan at Brechin City.
McKinnon said: “The injury list is growning by the minute.
“Jason is out and is going to get scans on his back. Lewis Toshney did his hamstring on Tuesday night and Mitch Megginson has picked up a knee injury.
“We’ve not got our problems to seek, that’s for sure. Lewis is very doubtful for Saturday, Mitch is out, Jason is out.
“We’ll need to look at a couple of things, one of which is maybe bringing Batesy back from his loan.”
