Forfar boss Dick Campbell has bolstered his squad with the addition of highly-rated Hibs youngster Lewis Allan on a season-long loan.
The 18-year-old, 6ft 2in striker signed a contract extension with the Edinburgh club in February that will keep him at Easter Road until 2018.
Campbell is delighted that he has now been allowed to continue his development at Station Park and he is hoping all the necessary paperwork can be completed before today’s league game again Stenhousemuir.
The manager is looking for his side to bounce back after they lost their unbeaten record so far this season after being defeated by Dunfermline in the Petrofac Cup on Tuesday night with the Loons having to play with just 10 men for an hour after Kevin Nicoll was sent off.
Campbell said: “I am delighted that we have managed to sign Lewis on a season-long loan.
“There was interest in him from other clubs so it is pleasing that we have managed to bring him to Forfar.
“He is a big lad with lots of pace and the fact that Hibs awarded him a three-year contract extension speaks volumes for just how highly they rate him.
“Fingers crossed we can complete the paperwork in time for our game against Stenhousemuir but if not then he will come into contention for our cup game on Tuesday against Hearts.
“We will of course look to bounce back following the disappointment of our Petrofac Cup defeat on Tuesday.
“I thought Dunfermline were quicker and better than us at the start of the game but I would have been happy to go in at half-time at 0-0.
“However, they got their penalty, we had our player sent off and it was uphill from there.
“You have to remember though that we have been doing really well in the league and we will look to continue that against Stenhousemuir at home.
“We know that it will not be easy especially as they will have received a boost following their Petrofac win over Championship side Raith Rovers.”
Campbell has a full squad to choose from for today’s game.
