An Angus derby between Arbroath and Brechin City will be the pick of the ties involving local clubs after the Scottish Cup third round draw at Hampden.
The match will be played at Gayfield on the weekend of November 2/3. In another all League One clash, Forfar will welcome East Fife to Station Park.
Montrose already have a second round win under their belts against Dalbeattie Star on Saturday and they may have a chance of revenge in this season’s Scottish Cup after they were paired with the winners of the replay between Fraserburgh and Edinburgh City.
The capital side knocked the Gable Endies out of the competition last season and manager Stuart Garden said: “That was a really disappointing day and to be fair they deserved their win.
“We had faced Rangers at Ibrox the week before and we suffered an almighty hangover and paid a heavy price. We will get someone along to Saturday’s game and get up to date with both teams.”
Dunfermline Athletic will travel north for a match against Elgin City. For Borough Briggs boss Ross Jack its a dream tie, given his time at East End Park as a player with the Fifers back in the late 1980s.
He said: “I spent the best three and a half years of my playing career at Dunfermline. I had some terrific times there with some great players in what was a successful time for the club.
“I have great affection for the people there but I will push that to the side for this game.
“Elgin are at home and that is all you can ask for in a tie like this against a team from a higher league. I am sure that the Dunfermline fans will turn up in big numbers and help make the game a real gala occasion.”
Raith Rovers were drawn away at East Stirlingshire, while Championship clubs Dumbarton and Cowdenbeath will square up on cup rather than league business. Rangers will host Airdrie.
