Montrose boss Paul Hegarty has tied up another three first-team regulars with Ross Campbell, Graham Webster and Greg Pascazio all putting pen to paper on one-year contract extensions.
The Links Park manager admits there is still a lot of hard work to be completed this season with the Gable Endies just nine points ahead of bottom club East Stirling.
However, Hegarty is determined to have the foundations in place for the next campaign and he has targeted the players he wants tied up with the trio now joining Andrew Steeves in agreeing new deals.
The manager said: “I am delighted Ross, Graham and Greg have signed for another season. We are making good progress in shaping our squad for next year and I hope to secure more signings very soon.
“We are not getting carried away with ourselves but we want to plan ahead and have players signed for next season.
“The problem we had last season was that we didn’t know what league we would be in because we were in the pyramid play-offs.
“We didn’t even know if myself and John Holt would still be in charge, after all if we had not won our play-off, the club may have decided they didn’t want us.
“So come the summer, we had a big rebuilding job looking around for players.
“We still have a bit to do to get over the finishing line this season but I am determined to get players signed for the next campaign so we can plan carefully to take the club forward.
“It is a case of chipping away and hopefully we might have a couple of others tied up later this week.”
