Brechin v East Fife: Naysmith looks to get back on track
ByCraig Smith
East Fife manager Gary Naysmith has challenged his players to bounce back from last weekend’s derby defeat when they visit Brechin City.
The Fifers missed the chance to close in on the top half of the table when they lost 3-1 to the Pars at Bayview, and remain six points clear of the relegation play-off zone in League One.
While Naysmith had no complaints with the scoreline, he hopes his side can draw on the positives from their Dunfermline defeat.
“I just said to the lads that you can make all the excuses you want, but you’ve got to learn from these games,” he said.
“I think we lost too many individual battles on Saturday and I think as a team Dunfermline handled the conditions better.
“It hurts me to say that because it was a derby game, but if I’m being honest I think they did deserve to beat us.”
Brechin sit in fifth spot and are five points ahead of Naysmith’s men in eighth place.
