Albion 0-2 Montrose: On-loan Bryan Deasley makes an impact
ByThe Courier Reporter
Bryan Deasley may have failed to impress during the shortest of second spells at Forfar, but the former Dundee striker got his loan-stint at Montrose off to the best possible start.
The 25-year-old striker only met his new Links Park mates on Saturday after signing on the eve of the game.
However, he settled in immediately, scoring the clinching second goal as the Gable Endies notched their first league win of the season while consigning Albion Rovers to their first defeat.
Montrose had led through Lloyd Young’s decisive finish on the half-hour mark when Deasley made his mark midway through the second half. The striker was on hand to pounce on a loose ball in the home box and unleash an unstoppable left-foot shot.
Montrose boss Stuart Garden said: “We brought Bryan in to give us options up front and he has taken his goal really well. The first goal was crucial and I though we went on to dominate the game from there and deserved the win.
“It is important to get that first win and hopefully we will kick on from here.”
