Dundee United agree compensation deal with Partick Thistle

Dundee United and Partick Thistle have brokered a peace deal over the compensation battle between the two clubs for manager Jackie McNamara and assistant Simon Donnelly.
When the duo left the Jags for Tannadice in January, the Glasgow club launched a legal action against McNamara for £80,000 they believed they were due from him to get out of his contract at Firhill.
The former Celtic and Scotland defender then made a counter-claim for a promotion bonus he felt he was due after Partick ultimately secured promotion to the SPL.
Now, though, the clubs and McNamara have reached an agreement.
The Tangerines issued a statement which said: “Dundee United and Partick Thistle advise that a full and final settlement has been agreed in respect of financial claims arising from the resignations of Jackie McNamara and Simon Donnelly earlier this year.
“All parties were keen to resolve the situation amicably, without the need for arbitration, and all are pleased that the matter is now closed.”
