Montrose have secured the services of former Dundee striker Leighton McIntosh until the end of the season.
McIntosh, who is currently out injured with a knee injury, joined Shields’ squad in September following his release from Dens Park and has scored twice during that time.
The pacy front man last played at the end of December against Elgin, however Shields is hopeful that he will be back to face Annan next weekend.
Shields said: “I am delighted to have Leighton tied up until the end of the season and hopefully he will be back in the team soon. We reckoned it was a four-week absence when he was injured and it looks like that timescale was right.”
