Partick Thistle have reminded Dunfermline fans that a share of the gate money collected from their home game this week will go straight to the Pars.
Should Dunfermline take more than 500 supporters to Firhill, the Jags will donate the net income from any surplus to the Pars on the understanding it goes directly to the players’ wages.
For this weekend’s game, Thistle have confirmed they will charge Dunfermline’s under-16 supporters £5.
Meanwhile, Dundee United-bound Jags captain Paul Paton is expected to play his final game for Thistle this weekend following the knee injury which has kept him sidelined for a few weeks.
The 26-year-old has signed a pre-contract agreement at Tannadice and is likely to feature against Dunfermline after making a recovery
* Bob Garmory, of Pars United, believes Dunfermline will emerge from a “very dark period, marked by distrust” if they can harness the passion of their fan-base.
This week they set a fundraising target of £500,000 to purchase Dunfermline from administrator Bryan Jackson, of accountancy giants BDO.
“Since April 1 we have raised around £50,000. If you harness that desire and passion from the fans and turn it into financial aid then there is real potential there,” he said.
