Former Real Sociedad defender Julen Etxabeguren Leanizbarrutia should be available to make his debut for East Fife on Saturday.
The 23-year-old, who was in the Spanish giants’ squad of 25 players for the Champions League last season, has been training with the Methil club in recent weeks but had been unable to play for the Fifers up until now.
However, the player who initially signed on amateur forms is now formally on the club’s books after professional paperwork was completed and could be added to the starting line-up for this weekend’s home game against Queen’s Park.
Meanwhile, Fifers’ boss Gary Naysmith also confirmed yesterday that the loan deals for St Johnstone goalkeeper Jordan Millar and Hearts defender Liam Smith are in the process of being extended – pending the necessary rubber-stamping this week.
