Aberdeen wait for referee’s report before commenting on Paul Paton spitting claims
ByThe Courier Reporter
Aberdeen have declined to comment on suggestions that Dundee United midfielder Paul Paton spat at their player Johnny Hayes.
The Northern Ireland international was booked by Crawford Allan for a foul on Hayes in the 78th minute as the Dons ran out 2-0 winners at Tannadice.
The alleged incident was supposed to have occurred after Paton’s challenge but both the Dons and United will have to wait to see if the matter is mentioned in the match official’s report or if SFA compliance officer Tony McGlennan has decided to take action after studying video footage of the match.
The caution he received for the challenge has taken Paton over the disciplinary threshold and he will miss the trip to St Johnstone on December 27.
