East Fife 0 Stranraer 1: Fifers’ good run comes to an end

EAST FIFE’S recent run of fine form came to an end as they crashed to a single-goal defeat against second-bottom Stranraer at New Bayview.
Billy Brown’s side, on a three-game winning streak in the league, dominated the opening half-hour.
Scott McBride and Liam Gormley were denied by Stranraer goalkeeper David Mitchell inside seven minutes before Collin Samuel hit the post from 25 yards.
Stranraer moved in front in the 34th minute, with Stuart Malcolm lobbing home from Robert Love’s cross.
Mitchell denied Fifers’ loan star Bobby Barr from 18 yards on the hour and Samuel headed over as the Fifers pressed.
East Fife then hit a post for a second time through Jamie Pollock.
East Fife: Antell, Durie, Forster, Muir, Sloan (Johnstone 82), Robert Barr, Willis, Darren Smith (Pollock 70), McBride, Samuel, Gormley (Jamieson 58). Subs not used: Collier, White.
