Raith Rovers manager John McGlynn believes his side’s away record means they have nothing to fear as they travel to Dunfermline on Saturday for what could prove to be a first division title decider.
The Pars are in confident mood having thumped Queen of the South 6-1 at home last Saturday, but the Kirkcaldy outfit have only lost twice on the road in the league all season.
Having sold out their entire allocation of tickets for this weekend’s encounter with their Fife rivals, McGlynn is hoping the club’s fans will be another key factor as his side attempt to win against the odds.
“Our away form is much better than our home form, which gives us confidence going to East End Park,” he said. “Having better away form applies to a number of teams, even Arsenal.
“I think it is a facet of modern-day football, so we are quite happy going to Dunfermline’s home patch. We know we are underdogs but it just brings more to the challenge.
“However, we should have a large support roaring us on. Our fans have had a big part to play all season and I can only thank them for that.
“I am sure they have been delighted with the football they have seen this year and the position the team have got themselves into.
“I am certain they will give the team every encouragement and will stay with us for the full 92, 93 or 94 minutes the game lasts they have done that all season.
“It is a big occasion for them and I hope it is a great spectacle football-wise.”
