Raith boss John McGlynn is weighing up whether his players were fully fit physically and mentally to face Partick Thistle at Firhill tomorrow.
Rovers are still suffering from the disappointment of missing out on promotion to the SPL, as well as news that club is set to make big cuts this summer.
Who is staying and who is leaving will not be known until next week at the earliest, and McGlynn has a lot to consider before finalising his side that will look to secure the first division runners-up spot with a victory over the Jags.
“To be honest, I will have to suss things out at training,” he said. “I have spoken about the need to make cuts, so I will have to make sure all the players are in the right frame of mind to play a football match.
“If someone has a particular reason why they do not want to play, then I will have to consider it as we are desperate to secure second place.”
The Firhill pitch has one of the worst reputations in the first division with regular professional rugby as well as football played on it.
However, when he was asked if that would also influence his selection, McGlynn said, “Not really.
“The surface is the same for both sides, but at least Partick are used to it which could give them a wee advantage.
“With rugby also being played on it, the pitch does take a bit of a battering, but hopefully after the recent sunny weather it will have dried out a bit.”
