It is all about Arbroath in one of the categories at the Irn Bru awards ceremony tonight, with four Lichties vying for the third division player of the season prize.
Nominee Josh Falkingham, who believes any one of his team-mates could have made it on to the list for the gala dinner, will go up against Gavin Swankie, Steven Doris and Kieran McAnespie.
He is delighted to have had his name put forward, but feels any player could have been picked from the championship-winning side.
“I am proud to be nominated, and it is also a massive achievement for the club to be filling all four of the places,” said the English midfielder.
“That says a lot about the season we have just had at Arbroath.
“Mind you, we are really just representing the whole group because it is a team game and so many have done well.
“So it is not just about the four of usit’s about all of the lads.
“As you would expect, there has been plenty of banter flying around about who should win, but I think we are all secretly happy for each other.”
Falkingham is heading off on a well-deserved holiday this weekend before returning to prepare for life in the second division.
“It was a new experience for me last season at the club, but I settled down quickly and the season was just brilliant,” he added.
“We now face a different challenge, and I hope we can keep as many of the boys so that we can crack on when the campaign starts again.”
Falkingham has also been nominated for Irn Bru’s young player of the season, along with Dundee duo Craig Forsyth and Leighton McIntosh.
