Craig Forsyth’s agent has revealed that the player could yet decide to stay with Dundee next season.
The highly rated youngster’s contract with the Dark Blues expired on Tuesday and he has been heavily linked with other clubs in the SPL, including St Johnstone, as well as English Championship side Crystal Palace.
However, the offer of a new deal with Dundee is still on the table and the player is set to sit down with his family and agent Blair Morgan to make a final decision on his next career move when he returns from holiday in just over a week’s time.
“Craig is having a break in Mexico at the moment,” Morgan said. “He should be back around June 13 and we will meet up with him and try to come to a decision about his future.
“He has options from other clubs to consider. I do not want to name them but I can confirm there has been interest from teams in the SPL as well as the English Championship.
“Dundee have also made him a really good offer to stay at Dens and Barry Smith is very keen to keep him at the club. The deal is still on the table so there is a chance Craig may yet decide to stay with Dundee.
“He has to weigh up all the options and it is a major decision to make, but the good thing from a Dundee point of view is that because he is 22 if he does opt to move down south, then the club will be entitled to compensation.
“He has been at Dens all his career and they have helped his development enormously so if he departs, at least he knows they will be receiving something back in return.”
