Highly-rated youngster Craig Forsyth looks like he will move to Watford.

The 22-year-old midfielder is believed to have travelled south on Wednesday with his agent to hold talks with the English Championship side and is expected to put pen to paper later this week.

Forsyth had attracted interest from a host of clubs after playing a key role in helping the Dark Blues secure their place in the first division last season.

He had been courted by St Johnstone as well as Crystal Palace, but Watford came in at the last minute to prise him away from Dens. His move will entitle Dundee to a fee for developing the player, with the club believed to be seeking a figure close to £100,000.

However, Forsyth’s departure is a further blow to a Dundee support already reeling from the possible loss of another prize asset, Gary Harkins, to Kilmarnock.

New Killie boss Kenny Shiels admitted at his official unveiling as Rugby Park boss on Wednesday that Harkins was a player on his radar.
