Dundee United captain Jon Daly resumes full training

Dundee United striker Jon Daly completed a full training session and could be back in the Tannadice team at the weekend.
The club captain was ruled out for a month with a knee injury but is almost two weeks ahead of schedule in his recovery.
With fellow frontman Johnny Russell suspended as a result of his red card against Rangers last weekend, having Daly available for selection for the visit of Terry Butcher’s Inverness Caledonian Thistle would be a timely boost for the Tangerines.
Coach Paul Hegarty insisted, however, the Irishman won’t be rushed back if he isn’t ready and will be monitored closely as the week progresses.
He said: “Jon Daly returned to training with us today, which is ahead of schedule. We’ll see how he gets on before the weekend then the manager will make a decision on him. It’s great he’s on the road back sooner than we thought.
“With Johnny Russell suspended it would be great to have him but we won’t be rushing him. Jon is an experienced player he knows himself when he’s ready.
“And with young lads like Lauri Dalla Valle up front we could do with someone of his experience there to help them along. Jon is an important player for the team.”
