St Johnstone will have the chance to go clear in fourth spot in the SPL on Wednesday night.
Fresh from their defeat of Hearts, the Perth men will be looking to complete an Edinburgh double against Hibs at Easter Road.
Saints boss Derek McInnes has admitted the timing of this match has riled him, given it was originally postponed because Hibs slotted in a friendly at the start of the season.
He said: ”Our fans have to travel to Easter Road and Rugby Park in the space of a few days when there were better dates the rearranged game with Hibs could have been played.
”We are being punished for Hibs having a friendly against Sunderland when we were due to play them originally. I’m not happy about it, but fortunately we have a squad that can handle it.
”Before the Hearts game we mentioned to the players that they could go into fourth spot if we took care of business this week. There is an opportunity against Hibs to move three points ahead of Hearts and St Mirren.
”It will be tough because Hibs are fighting hard as I saw against Dundee United on Saturday but we have a good away record.”
Jody Morris and Callum Davidson have returned to training and could make the squad.
Meanwhile, Kevin Moon has revealed he feared his injury jinx had struck yet again.
The midfielder had only just recovered from a hand operation in August when he fell heavily in the Motherwell match and damaged his shoulder.
Moon, whose career at McDiarmid has been ravaged by misfortune, admitted he was terrified he was set for another spell on the sidelines.

He said: ”It has been a stop-start beginning to the season after breaking my hand and then falling and injuring my shoulder.
”It is all right now, but when you have had serious injuries like I’ve had you always worry it is going to be another bad one.
”It was very sore at the time and you expect the worst, but you have to stay positive and thankfully it is fine now.
”So it is just great to be back in the team and hopefully I can put it all behind me and get a wee run of games.”
Moon only missed one match last week’s League Cup loss to St Mirren.
With the Saints players having exorcised the demons of that defeat with victory over Hearts, they will travel to play Hibs full of confidence.
He said: ”We were really disappointed with the way we went out of the cup. We were determined to bounce back against Hearts and the manager got the reaction he wanted from the boys.
”Easter Road is always a tough place to go, but we will stay focused and there is no reason why we can’t make it three wins in a row.
”The boys are working very hard when we don’t have the ball, and with the quality we have up front now we are always going to score goals.
”We are determined to improve on last season, so it would be great if we could finish in the top six.
”We aren’t getting ahead of ourselves though we just want to put as many points on the board as soon as possible and we will start setting targets nearer the time.”
