Raith Rovers manager John McGlynn is still mulling over whether to treat tonight’s Fife Cup final against Cowdenbeath as a regular first-team match.
The Kirkcaldy men welcome Cowdenbeath to Stark’s Park for the game, which has a 7.30pm kick-off.
McGlynn said: ”On one hand I could play my usual team to try to keep some momentum going before the league gets going again. But on the other hand there are a few lads who haven’t had many minutes who would benefit from the game time.
”There will definitely be at least a few first-team regulars because of the size of our squad.”
Cowdenbeath will be without their on-loan Rangers midfielder Kal Naismith (19). He picked up a knee injury against Arbroath on Saturday and Cowden boss Colin Cameron has ruled him out.
But the match will provide a major boost for defender Dene Droudge, who will be making a return to their first-team squad for the first time in 18 months following a serious knee injury. He will be on the bench.
Cameron is looking for his side to keep up their impressive recent form.
He said: ”You want to be winning things and a bit of silverware is a good thing to have.
”The way we have been playing recently we should expect to go there and put in a good performance.”
