Dundee United squad keeping pace with extra training

Dundee United’s players have taken their extra running in their stride.
The Tangerines have not enjoyed as much time off as they expected during the international break, with the club instead sticking to their usual week’s schedule in the wake of the defeat to Motherwell.
They have been put through their paces at their St Andrews base, and assistant coach Gary Kirk has been pleased with their efforts.
”The players have been different class this week,” he said. ”They have shown great desire to get out there training and nobody has moaned and groaned about it.
”They have done a lot of running, doing more fitness work than ball work.”
He added: ”We will be back in on Friday, off Saturday and Sunday then work towards the Aberdeen game next week.”
Meanwhile, defender Sean Dillon could return against the Dons as he recovers from a calf injury that has kept him out for over three weeks.
”Sean is coming along fine and is desperate to get back playing again and help the lads,” said Kirk.
